Jürgen Müller appointed Chair of the IUGG2023 Scientific Committee
The IUGG Executive Committee unanimously endorsed the appointment of Prof. Jürgen Müller to the position of the Chair of the Scientific Program Committee (SPC) for the IUGG General Assembly 2023 (IUGG2023) to be held in Berlin. Jürgen has been President of the German National Committee since 2012 and IAG National Correspondent for Germany since 2005.
The SPC consists of the Chair, nine Members (Secretaries General of the eight Union Associations plus the IUGG Secretary General) and the IUGG President (ex-officio).
The SPC for IUGG2023 will include the following members:
- Chair: Jürgen Müller (Leibniz University Hannover, Germany)
- IACS Secretary General: Richard Essery (The University of Edinburgh, UK)
- IAG Secretary General: Markku Poutanen (National Land Survey of Finland)
- IAGA Secretary General: Monika Korte (GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences)
- IAHS Secretary General: Christophe Cudennec (Agrocampus Ouest, France)
- IAMAS Secretary General: Steve Ackerman (University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA)
- IAPSO Secretary General: Stefania Sparnocchia (CNR-ISMAR Institute of Marine Sciences, Italy)
- IASPEI Secretary General: Johannes Schweitzer (NORSAR, Norway)

IAG General Assembly 2021
IAG Scientific Assembly will be organized in Beijing on June 28 - July 3, 2021. The host organizations are Chinese Society for Geodesy, Photogrammetry and Cartography (CSGPC), Chinese Academy of Surveying and Mapping (CASM), and Chinese National Committee for IAG (CNC-IAG). There will be seven symposia:
- Symposium 1: Reference Frames (Organizer Christopher Kotsakis),
- Symposium 2: Gravity and Gravity Field (Organizer Adrian Jäggi) divided in two sub-symposia on Static and Time-variable gravity field,
- Symposium 3: Earth Rotation and Geodynamics (Organizer Janusz Bogusz),
- Symposium 4: Positioning and applications (Organizer Allison Kealy),
- Symposium 5: Observation Systems and IAG Services (Organizer Basara Miyahara),
- Symposium 6: Applications of Geodetic Techniques to Geohazards (Organizers John LaBrecque, Allison Craddock), and
- Symposium 7: Inter-Commission Committees and Project Symposium (Organizers Pavel Novák, Annette Eicker, Yuanxi Yang, Jürgen Müller).

International Autumn School "NEROGRAV"
The International Autumn School "NEROGRAV" will take place 5-9 October 2020 in Bad Neuenahr (near Bonn), Germany. The school is organized by the Research Unit NEROGRAV (New Refined Observations of Climate Change from Spaceborne Gravity Missions) which is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). It will educate a group of 35 Ph.D. students and junior scientists in state of the art satellite gravimetry data processing and applications of mass transport data in Earth system sciences related with the global water cycle, the oceans, the cryosphere or the atmosphere.
